Chuck is a beautiful Nubian goat owned by my friend Sue Weaver – gorgeous as a baby, especially – He is just too beautiful not have a portrait done – Sue allowed me to use him and some of her other goats as models for my products in my goat lover’s shop at Zazzle – She has some truly beautiful goats! His is not a memorial.
I began my pet portraits to memorialize my own beloved goats that crossed Rainbow’s Bridge. I love giving the animals a slight dreamy or esoteric appearance, especially in the eyes (which are the windows to the soul ). When I began painting other’s people’s pets my love grew into a way to heal the hearts of the ones left behind. I opened up a shop at Zazzle (Remember Me Mama) for folks to insert their own photos into memorial backgrounds and place of various gifts. But my favorite thing to do, is to create paintings from the photos.. working on the tiny details makes me feel closer to the pet.. I do my best to capture the essence of the personality I see in the photos you send. If there is something in particular about your pet, a note is appreciated and I will do my best to capture that essence.
Romeo is one of my dearest friend’s goats, she lost him this past December and his sister Jazzy last year – so as a surprise for her, I created a piece for her with both Romeo and Jazzy as adults and also as babies.. I remembered the story of the butterfly that landed on Romeo’s horn one day – I used 4 of her photos of her goats – 2 of Romeo and 2 of Jazzy and incorporated them into this one piece for her – it was a surprise Christmas gift – it ended up to be 32″x32″ – a memorial for her… forever. I love you Linda!

Your Artwork on Products:
I have a shop on Zazzle where the printing of my artwork will be applied to products for private sale to the customer and the customer will purchase products directly from my Zazzle store via private link I will email you. You will have a section of my store with various products with your painting applied, if you would like the artwork on a product it is not applied to I will happily add it to the collection. This collection will be sent to you as a private URL that only you and those you share it with have access to. This artwork and / or products and artwork are not available to the public.
All product ordering, printing, money transactions and shipping will be done by Zazzle. I have no physical products at my personal disposal and no way to print them – All printing will be done via my Zazzle Shop. Your private section with your artwork and available products will remain available for you and those you share your link with indefinitely, unless Zazzle changes its rules for designers and in the case of this occurring, I will contact you before any products are removed. Your product can be removed at your request at any time. Respecting your privacy, your artwork will not be used on any public sales – EVER.
Upon request, the digital original artwork can be sent to the customer at an additional cost of $150.00, payable in advance via Paypal. Once the digital artwork has been sent, there will be no refund. A “PRINTABLE JPG” file will be emailed in a digital form. This will be a High Resolution JPG file in 11″x14″ size. You can have it printed anywhere, as many times as you wish, as long as it’s for personal use (not commercial) and my signature must remain on your portrait . There’s NO physical product shipped with this option. Of course I will send you watermarked proofs before the artwork is finished – your satisfaction is of the utmost importance to me. The watermarks will Not be on the final product.
To Commission Work:
* One or more photos – Clear and Large minimum 8×10 high def preferred- sent to me via email (PetPortraits @ whimsicalartwork.com) Close spaces
Send High-resolution files that show good details.
The more details I can see, the better your portrait will be. You can send a few photos, if you like and let me know which one/s you want me to use.
* If you have any doubts about your photos (whether they are suitable or not), you can send them to me for consultation before buying. It’s free
* Pet’s breed and coat color (photos can distort colors)
* Preferred background colors (background will be an abstract watercolor painting)
* Standard size for paintings are 11×14 inches (larger paintings available at minimal additional cost)
* Any text you would like on the final product and what style and color you would like it to be (script/standard/block/etc)
* Any special request if this is a memorial – (rainbow, halo, wings etc)
Your portrait will be digitally painted by hand, using a Wacom Intuos Pro drawing tablet. It will be created in the style of portraits shown (I paint head and chest shots depending on the photos I receive, I do not do full body poses- My focus is on the face and expressions) in this listing and may take up to 2-3 weeks to finish (depending on the number of pets in the portrait, and my current workload).
- Base Price for one pet is $75.00 – each additional animal will add an additional cost of $25 Up to 5 total – No Humans will be painted.
- Non-refundable Down Payment of 50% via paypal will be required before work is started, the remaining balance due before links for products sent.
- Photos of each animal can be sent separately -you may be requested to send additional or better quality photos if the photo sent is not clear enough to paint details.
- Allow 2-3 weeks for completion of work, if there will be a delay for any reason the customer will be notified.
- I try to respond to emails right away – but please allow 24 hours for a reply (please keep in mind I do also have a farm with my own animals to tend to, there will be times I do not reply immediately but you will receive email response in 24 hours)
